Producer, The Media Show (Aug 2008 – present)

Developed and produced award-winning online video show about media literacy for young adults.
Ran a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over $9000 for higher-production-value episodes.
Managed a staff of three volunteer creatives/scriptwriters, four interns; coordinated shoots with AfterEd.tv staff.
Puppeteer and puppet builder.

Post-Doctoral Fellow, Anthropology in Education, Teachers College (Sept 2010 – Aug 2011)

Wrote and received a Google grant to continue my dissertation research, conversational analysis of blog comment threads.
Processed HTML in Python for use in natural language processing applications.

Producer, AfterEd.tv (Feb 2008 – Jun 2010)

Developed and led a five-week workshop on media literacy and video production for English-language learners in high school.
Directed, edited, and produced videos on a weekly schedule using Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro.
Planned promotional campaigns and managed online presence of show using YouTube, blogs, Facebook, etc.
Developed media literacy material for The Media Show and for a supplement to Spike Lee's When The Levees Broke.
Came up with a socially-beneficial use for 200 free hotdogs.

Research Consultant, PeerView Press (Jan 2008)

Reviewed online instructional system for medical education; recommended improvements based on research in multimedia, cognition, and case-based education.

Research Consultant, Linden Lab (Jun – Sept 2007)

Based on my user research, developed videos highlighting users' problems with the Second Life interface, to communicate with developers. Changes I recommended were instituted in a major interface overhaul.
Developed a new user orientation.
Developed best practices for creating tutorials in Second Life.
Ran statistics on new user retention and made recommendations to UX flow to solve drain issues.
Set up observation lab, conducted user research using Morae.
Routinely attended business meetings dressed as a tiny moose in a 1920s flapper outfit.

Destineer Studios (Aug – Oct 2006)

Designed Nintendo DS game for a 'tween girl/casual gaming audience.

Research Consultant, McGraw Hill Higher Education (May 2004 – Aug 2005)

Managed nationwide video production for digital textbook supplement; established video quality standards.
QA testing on digital textbook supplement.
Ran study assessing effectiveness of supplement interface, content.
Developed tests to accompany higher ed textbooks.
Researched textbook market of credentialing programs for teachers.

Production Intern, Sesame Workshop (Fall 2004)

On set during the 35th season of Sesame Street.
Firsthand view of meetings where researchers, directors, and creatives decided on production values for scripts.

Familiarized self with the legendary formative/summative research shaping the show.
Assisted with child talent.
Brought Kevin Clash (the guy who plays Elmo) socks when he had to wear Big Bird's feet for a day; set up guest suite for astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

Developed digital database tool for live data collection in classrooms.
Researched effects of technology and real-life problem scenarios on teacher education.
Responsible for managing and tracking information from study participants.

Developed report on data gathered from market research on doctors prescribing sleep aids.

Edited, researched, and oversaw production of directory/database of NYC ethnic press (277 outlets).
Copy/gut edited articles for weekly web digest of local ethnic press.
Worked with web developer to overhaul organization's website.
Managed member press clubs and trainings.
Responsible for finding news outlets at newsstands all over New York City, including Uzbeki Sephardic newspaper and Russian funeral magazine.
